15 Second Horror Challenge Returns and FearMakers Are Out To Win

Last year we reported on the 15 Second Horror Challenge which puts horror artists from all around the globe into a position to create the scariest shortest film they can think of. A few We Are Indie Horror community members participated and did fairly well in the process. Those FearMaker’s return this year with even more frights to boot, just in time for Halloween.

The 15 Second Horror Film Challenge is a not-for-profit international free contest where celebrity judges rank and award their favorites. With it’s second season just closing their submission deadlines, we await the release and awards on Halloween. Last year saw over 250 submissions with some incredible judges such as Lloyd Kaufman, Nicolas Vince, and FearMaker Jessica Cameron along many others.

Last year FearMaker Wesley Alley created the short Monster in The Closet which went on to be picked by 3 of the celebrity judges for their top 5 placing him at 11th over all. Out of over 250 entries, Wesley placed 2nd in most technical filmmaker. This year Wesley’s latest 15 second entry, Go To Bed, has been released ahead of time to help promote this year’s contest. You can view Go To Bed below.

Wesley also has a second short that was released early but this time he has the producer hat on. Curtis Schultz‘s Toliet Seat is gaining much attention in this year’s contest. You can also view that one below.

FearMaker’s Jenn Nangle and Kareem Davis Jr. both return to the contest as well. Kareem has multiple entries with one in particular being a stop motion animation which can be seen on FACEBOOK. Jenn Nangle continues the one woman horror show with her short Noose which can be seen below.

Marc Cartwright of Glass Cabin Films also shares his short, Savor about the horrors of dining alone.

Many others have entered the contest with this year seeing over 300 entries. Not only are season 1 judges returning, they have added over three dozen new celebrity judges. Names include We Are Indie Horror friend Lisa Wilcox from Nightmare on Elm Street 4 as well Mark Torgl from The Toxic Avenger and Amy Steel from Friday the 13th: Part II.
