It’s that time of year, where the Halloween decorations make way for green and red tinsel, bright trees, and fat men in large red coats. For horror fans like us, the holiday season can be a rather lackluster affair, with the slight exception of Krampus, there just really isn’t too much out there for us. Lucky for those who live in the Los Angeles area, there are a few events definitely worth checking out that will add fear into the happiest time of year. We’ve compiled a short list of events worth checking out if you are in the holiday spirit, but want something sinister.
Located in Fullerton, Sinister Pointe is a Halloween must for those seeking horrifying thrills. They have revamped their Halloween haunt with a Christmas theme in a “choose your own adventure” style, rude and crude Christmas adventure. The highly interactive haunt is bigger than the Halloween version and includes a picture with their Not so Merry Santa Claus. The show runs on select nights from December 2nd to December 17. Tickets range between $22 to $44 depending on tiers and can be purchased here
The Fourth Annual Krampus Ball returns to the Highland Park Ebell Club to celebrate the glory that is Krampus. Jolly old St. Nicholas will be the emcee for the evening, and there will be plenty of treats and blessings from the good saint and plenty of Austrian STIEGL BEER. Krampus Ball is on Friday, December 2nd, and tickets are available here for $25, $35 at the door if tickets are still available.
We’ve talked about this show before, Blood Alley is a play revolving around a dark and mysterious street- alley, haunted by the longing, beauty and unspeakable events of its Christmas-past; a cursed place of no mercy, inhabited by a hundred-year accumulation of apparitions, phantasms and sub-breeds that desperately await their next victim! Blood Alley runs on select nights between December 2nd through December 17th. Tickets are only $15, available at the door or online. Anyone 15 years of age and up are welcome. Tickets can be purchased here
Of course, Krampus was going to make the list twice! What better way to ring in the Holiday season than watching a bunch of Krampus-themed tribute bands hit the stage? Enjoy a spiked beverage as bands like KRAMMPSTEIN and Marlyn Krampson take the stage. Adding to the mix is Krampus Los Angeles and their many Krampus’s. This event is one night only, December 10th at The Alpine Village, Torrance, CA., 833 W Torrance Blvd. Advanced tickets are recommended, they go for $12 and can be purchased here. $15 tickets will be sold at the door but only if they are not already sold out.
Join We Are Indie Horror, Seraph Films, Nvisionate Studios, and Rise Motion Pictures for their third annual Scary Christmas! Enjoy the horrific atmosphere at our open bar, learn your future from the tarot cards, or try your luck at the Seance Escape Room. Get a picture with Krampus and Santa, if they don’t kill you first. This party is free, with a $10 suggested donation. Monsters Unite will also be there taking toy donations for children and teens in need. RSVPing is a must in order to attend and can be done here
