Who doesn’t love Michael Jackson’s Thriller Music Video? Creepy music, zombies, a Vincent Price narration, and that Thriller Dance! Well this year, instead of bobbing your head, singing along, and holding in the urge to dance, just give in. On Saturday, October 24th, 2015, at 10pm GMT, join a Thrill The World event near you and finally learn how to do that awesome zombie shuffle. In the words of the Thrill the World team
Thrill The World is an annual worldwide attempt to break the Largest Simultaneous Dance with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Thousands of people in cities around the world will learn “Thriller,” dance and perform it together on the day that Thrill The World takes place.
The website provides a list of events for you to gather up your friends and head out to. They also have a free series of youtube videos that will teach you how to do the Thriller Dance. Last time I was at one of these, they offered to teach you the dance there if you showed up two hours early. It sounds crazy, but that seriously is enough time to learn the dance well enough to
do it with a massive group. I know, I learned it off of the youtube videos. I, infact, can thrill you more than any ghost would ever dare try. Even better, this is one of those rare family friendly horror events. So dress up those little ankle biters and let them dance along, too.
If you can’t seem to find an event near you, register to host one yourself. You can do it all right there on the Thrill The World website. They also have some helpful zombification videos to help you look the part. I know, I know, you’re thinking, “But I’m super busy and already have a bunch of plans that night and can’t go to an event! What ever will I do?!?” Worry not Fear Makers! There is a contingency. Just learn the Thriller Dance with some friends. I guarantee you guys will have a blast laughing at each other (and pushing each other over, it’s a must). If you and your friends manage somehow to not have fun doing this, you need to get new friends. I suggest gaining these new friends by randomly doing the Thriller Dance when around large groups of people. Thrill The World even has an online radio station that plays Thriller on the hour, so you’re now out of excuses!
If you do choose to participate in any way, please send us pictures or videos. You can also comment or send us an e-mail to tell us about your experience. Have fun out there everyone!
