Shirekfest Open For Submissions!

Calling all filmmakers, one of the prime October Los Angeles Horror Film Festivals, Shriekfest, has opened their gates for all film submissions. Coming off the heels of a successful 2016, 2017 will be even bigger and better. Heading into its 17th year, Shriekfest will be continuing the long-standing tradition of happening at the legendary Raleigh Studios, the largest independent studio operator in the country.

Striving to offer filmmakers and fans an ideal location and festival, Shriekfest looks to bring the best in horror and SciFi together. They will bring established and emerging filmmakers into one place to celebrate indie genre films. Through the festival, they gain media exposure while connecting with audiences and professionals. Over the past 16 years, many icons have crossed the threshold and interacted with the up and coming artists of tomorrow.

Starting now you can become part of the tradition and celebration by submitting original films or screenplays. They are accepting submissions in five categories: narrative feature, narrative short, narrative super short, feature screenplay, and short screenplay. Along with a screening, prizes will be awarded to winning filmmakers in each category.

The Festival Founder and Director Denise Gossett had the following to say:

We are already planning some exciting things for our Sexy &  17th year!

We Are Indie Horror is certainly looking forward to this year’s festival. Shriekfest in 2016 had the largest audience yet with a 20% increase over the previous year. More than 35 filmmakers who were featured in the festival were also in attendance.
