As the mystery of American Horror Story season six hangs in the air, with the theme of the upcoming season still a well-kept secret (the only clues provided are through cryptic teaser trailers), here is something that you can chew on and mull over until then.
Up to this point, the terror of American Horror Story has been held at bay within the confines of our televisions. However, it has been announced, that just two days after the premiere of American Horror Story: [Add Your Speculative Subtitle Here] (September 14), Universal Studios has announced that AHS will be coming to its parks this Halloween season, beginning September 16, as a maze, and part of its famed Halloween Horror Nights
The hit FX Network show comes to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resorts as part of its annual Halloween Horror Nights, which has scared tourists and lovers of the macabre and frights for over 25 years. The AHS maze will focus on three specific settings, ripped straight from past seasons of the show. It will feature the Harmon Estate from season one’s Murder House, season four’s Freak Show, and the eerie Hotel from season five. Here is a quick official description of what you might expect:
“For the first time ever, guests will venture through Ryan Murphy’s groundbreaking horror anthology, encountering a plethora of iconic scenes and memorable characters designed to jolt them to their very core. Twisted scenes from Murder House will unleash the evil spirits that possess the Harmon estate, spiraling guests through decades of the tortured dead who previously resided there. In Freak Show, guests will join a troupe of biological misfits in a sinister sideshow where they’ll be stalked by the murderous and deformed Twisty the Clown. Finally, guests will succumb to the warped desires of The Countess after checking in to the haunted Hotel Cortez, conceived from the beginning as a torture chamber for its customers.”
Just like the many other mazes Universal Studios has brought us, wrangling some of the top franchises and properties, like The Walking Dead and The Exorcist among others, you will be able to experience the scares and thrills of one of television’s hottest shows in all its terrifying glory. Immersed in the fictional worlds created by series creator Ryan Murphy you will experience real-life terror as you traverse through the audaciously bold and brutal scenarios of American Horror Story in differing manifestations, as shocking, captivating, and surprising as the anthology television series has been since its inception in 2011.
Below is a sneak peek of the much anticipated maze for the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series. American Horror Story season six premieres on FX, September 14.
