One of the most iconic 80’s monster movies is finally getting a well deserved documentary. We are, of course, talking about the Tom Holland’s masterpiece, Fright Night. Originally released in 1985 without a grand premiere screening, the film has since developed a gargantuan cult fan base, sparking an entire sub culture and even a 2011 remake.
Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace, You’re So Cool, Brewster! features a plethora of exclusive interview with both cast and crew, including Tom Holland himself, Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Stephen Geoffreys, Amanda Bearse, Jonathan Stark, Richard Edlund, Steve Johnson, Tommy Lee Wallace, Julie Carmen, Brian Thompson, Jon Gries and many more.
Hosted by Hellraiser’s Simon Bamford, the documentary will take an in depth look at the making of the 1985 classic, showcasing rare photographs, storyboards and artwork that details the thirty year legacy of both horror classics. It will also take a look at the real life Hollywood horror of the murder and betrayal that ultimately doomed the release of Fright Night Part 2 and future sequels.
You’re So Cool, Brewster will also be a tribute to the late, great Roddy McDowall, who passed away in October of 1998. Fright Night has been regarded as the pinnacle of 80’s cheese horror without going too over the top, the film has been in fans re-watch lists for decades.
You’re So Cool, Brewster! is brought to you by the same team who made Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellhound: Hellraiser II The 4.5 hour documentary will be on DVD and Blu-Ray, and is currently available for pre-order and is expected to ship in August.
