El Cid’s Horror Movie Night Needs Your Film

El Cid’s Horror Movie Night Needs Your Film

The historic El Cid located at 4212 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029 will once again be host to Seraph Films and WAIH as we screen Los Angeles’ scariest horror shorts just in time for Halloween. The El Cid is one of Los Angeles most historic locations, dating back to 1915, when D.W. Griffith used the corn fields where the El Cid now stands to film scenes from the infamous Birth of a Nation. Since the restaurant / theater hall was built in 1925, as the Jailbird Cafe, it has been an integral part of the LA scene. in 1963 the location was renamed and began its 50 year tradition of Dinner and a show, with Flamenco dancers.

The good people at El Cid have teamed up with Gene Blalock of Seraph Films for a third year to bring you their Horror Movie Night, where Seraph Films will premier his newest short, The Betwixed Killer. This year will be extra special with the announcement that We Are Indie Horror will be co-sponsoring the event! Candi Fear will be hosting the evenings festivities, as well as hanging around to collect some fear.

The event will take place on October 28, and is currently looking for submissions! If you are a filmmaker in Los Angeles, contact us or Seraph to have your film screened at this red carpet event. All you have to do is send us an email with “El Cid” in the title. If you aren’t a filmmaker, you are still encouraged to come and show support for your favorite genre. Not to mention that El Cid happens to have one of the nicest patios we have ever seen.
