November is shaping up to be a great month for Indie Horror. This latest addition comes from Michael Medaglia in Portland, Oregon. Deep Dark is being described as a horror, fantasy, and comedy receiving great reviews from around the world. Michael’s feature film debut has already had a premiere at The Portland Film Festival and its Australian premiere at the Sydney Underground Film Festival as well as a screening in the Sci-Fi London Film Festival. All have come back with raving reviews calling it “Refreshingly bizarre” and “Dark, Twisted, and Utterly Captivating.” Well it sounds right up our ally.
The story goes as follows:
Hermann, a failed sculptor, is about to kill himself when he finds a strange, talking hole in the wall. The creature in the hole (Denise Poirier, the voice of ÆON FLUX) has the power to fulfill his wildest dreams, but things go horribly wrong and when the killing starts, Hermann is thrust into the worst nightmare of his life. Deep Dark is a twisted tale warning you to be careful what you wish for, because it just might get you
Deep Dark was directed, written, and produced by Michael himself. The film was shot on a micro-budget which is not uncommon for horror in today’s world of filmmaking. But by judging the trailer, it does not seem like it hurt their production value at all.
The film distributed by Uncork’d Entertainment can be found at their FACEBOOK HERE or through their website; http://www.deepdarkmovie.com.
Being released on VOD and DVD on November 10th, Deep Dark has launched a brand new trailer for their film and let us tell you bizarre is the correct word for it. Check out the trailer below; followed by some official production stills. Will you be checking out Deep Dark once the Halloween season is over?
