UK Indie “The Unkindness of Ravens” Launches NSFW Trailer

“Quoth the raven Nevermore”. There is something about these mysterious black birds that have haunted the minds of many for centuries. Today We Are Indie Horror has found a trailer for a new film coming out of the UK that will further this fear of a raven. Indie horror creator Lawrie Brewster and the team at Hex Media are back for their second feature film with The Unkindness of Ravens

In 2013 Brewster and Hex Media created a beautiful and creepy feature that received much praise from media outlets and fans alike. Lord of Tears tells the story of a school teacher with recurring nightmares and his journey to find out why which leads him to an encounter with the legendary Owl Man. Hex Media strives to create smart and disturbing story-driven horror. As a team they are inspired by ancient religions, demons of old mythologies, and legends of the supernatural. They are partnered with Dark Dunes Productions to help create these disturbing film and chilling films.

The Unkindness of Ravens tells the story of Andrew, a homeless veteran plagued by flashbacks of traumatic event he witnessed in war. Through his travels in the Scottish Highlands to overcome his fear of ravens he gets more than he bargained for. His nightmares begin to manifest into a powerful, dark, and scary enemy. The creatures called “The Raven Warriors” are entirely original and inspired by Norse mythology and the Celtic Goddess of Death Morrigan. The feature is billed as an “epic horror fantasy”. They plan on making a whole saga around the story of Oilman and his army of demons referred to as Raven men. Brewster had this to say about the upcoming feature:

Our first story follows an ex-soldier who is forced to do battle against them in a movie that combines the insanity of Apocalypse Now with Hellraiser.

Apocalypse Now AND Hellraiser? Consider us signed up for this wild ride.

Directed by Lawrie Brewster and written by Sarah Daly, they promise to tell a dark, mysterious, and bold horror film that will linger in your mind and nightmares for years to come. The film stars Jaime Scott Gordon who is a “wild and intense method actor who threw himself into a mental abyss in order to play such a disturbed and challenging role.” By watching the trailer, he must have had to go to some extremely dark places, places that nobody should ever have to go mentally. But he did it all for the name of art and we commend him for that.

Currently the film is running a Kickstarter to help with raising the final dollars to complete production so our wonderful minds can see this film sooner rather than later.

Be on the lookout for an in depth look in a future BLOOD BANK. In the meantime put the children to bed or kick them out of the room and watch this definitely NSFW trailer for The Unkindness of Ravens
