New Orleans Comes To Los Angeles With Drunken Devil’s Bloody Gras

Mardi Gras is just a few weeks away, and that means a night of hedonistic debauchery is imminent. Usually, a spectacle saved for New Orleans, this year Los Angeles will get a taste of the raucous causing festivities courtesy of our friends at Drunken Devil. Their latest endeavor will transport guests back to the turn of the last century to a seedy, blood-soaked New Orleans with Bloody Gras

Last year, Drunken Devil shifted its format from creating haunted attractions to producing raucous parties, first with the disco inferno-themed L’Enfer: An Infernal Discotheque at Superchief Gallery, followed by the sold-out Halloween event, The Witches’ Ball, which took place in a historic ballroom overlooking Downtown Los Angeles. Now, the company seeks to cement its place as a not-to-be-missed, LA nightlife staple with a bawdy new Mardi Gras soirée, integrating burlesque, live music, disco, free-flowing booze, and immersive horror theater, at a gallery in the Arts District of DTLA.

The evening will be jam-packed with entertainment of all sorts. There will be a live Dixieland jazz band playing tunes, along with some class act burlesque acts like Scarlette Fox, Drunken Devil alum Madeline Sinclaire (Bang Boom Bash), and Jessabelle Thunder (Tease, If You Please). Floating entertainers like magicians Micah Cover (The Magic Castle) and Scott Michael (Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor), and witness dangerous freakshow antics by sword-swallower Whodini Driftwood or, sideshow performer Twirly the Clown.

If that isn’t enough to get you interested, there will also be an immersive ARG game within the party focusing on the legend of the New Orleans Axe Murderer. Featured in the Halloween episodes of the hit TV show American Horror Story: Coven, the Axe Murderer is a famed New Orleans legend, who was said to have killed anyone not playing jazz music on the night of his choice. Scour the party for clues and talk with other party goers at how you can banish this evil spirit before he kills more party guests.

Bloody Gras will take place on Saturday, February 25, at Werkartz in the Arts District – 927 S Santa Fe Ave, Los Angeles, 90021. Doors open at 8:00 pm, and the event concludes at 1:00 am. Previous Drunken Devil events have sold out and tickets, which are $75.00 and all-inclusive, will go quickly. This event is 21+. As always, the Drunken Devil invites his guests to dress to impress; attire should reflect the hedonism of jazz clubs and Mardi Gras, circa 1920.
