Tyler Christensen‘s directorial debut House of Purgatory has been picked up by Terror Films, set to release to a wide audience in early 2016. Tyler’s film, completed in 2014, has been traveling around the festival circuit, looking for that special someone to help distribute. “There are so many distribution companies these days, especially in the horror genre, that it was very important to us to find the right company that not only had the proven track record, but also the same sensibilities when it comes to what makes good storytelling. We’ve found that in the team at Terror Films.”
House of Purgatory stars Torey Adkins, Laura Coover, and Marika Engelhardt
House of Purgatory tells the following story:
It’s a story that has existed throughout the Midwest for years – a haunted attraction that repays a portion of the admittance fee for every floor patrons who are brave enough to complete. The haunted house is supposedly so terrifying, however, that nobody has ever made it all the way through to the end. On Halloween night, four Wisconsin teenagers go looking for this supposed urban legend. What they find is the House of Purgatory – the source of all the stories. Once inside the house, the teens quickly realize the house is more than a mere haunted attraction. The house somehow knows the things each of the kids keep hidden, and forces each of them to come face to face with the secrets they keep.

It’s great to see more and more independent artists getting this world-wide recognition for their hard work. We cannot wait to see House of Purgatory, but until then, the trailer will just have to do.
